The pressure gauge works according to the Bourdon tube measuring principle. Process pressure enters the gauge through the radial connection and acts on the internal curved Bourdon tube.
As pressure increases, the Bourdon tube tends to straighten slightly. This mechanical movement is transferred through a linkage and gear mechanism that converts the motion into rotational movement of the pointer across the dial.
